WHAT'S NEW IN PREFAB? INSTANT GREEN BLU HOMES!
Does a recipe for a sleek and modern eco-friendly, energy efficient home assembled in as little as a few days sound too good to be true? These homes are almost instant. Instead of “add water and stir”, they're pre-made inside a factory and then assembled on site.Does this mean that it’s more costly? The answer is - it depends.
You can choose from a selection of designs and finishes in all price ranges - eliminating the cost of hiring an architect and starting from scratch. The cost of the land is extra, unless you plan on tearing down the existing home and starting fresh. Once you have the foundation in place, basically you're ready to go.

I was inspired by attending the annual DWELL on DESIGN Conference in LA where the best in Modern design is brought all under one roof. You can checkout a Prefab modular home that’s state of the art and wired and almost ready to go right out of the box with all the design features you want.
This is how I discovered Blu homes.
Finally a green Prefab home builder that shows you how fast and easy it is to build from start to finish- checking out the videos made me a believer. I can't wait to see one in person!
The homes seemed to unfold and come together in the blink of an eye like Origami.
Within hours you have the basic bones of a house in place. Are they sustainable?
They say the homes can be built LEED certified and they use sustainably harvested wood floors and energy efficient appliances. It looks like they work with your personal tastes offering thousands on finish combinations.
In general a Prefab home is built “tighter” meaning no air escapes and also no air enters, so it keeps your energy bills down. On the other side of the coin, it means that a house won't breathe. and if your building materials contain toxic materials and you breathe in the fumes, you may have health issues..So using green materials are important- even if you can't see it at first glance.
Having taken all the health and wellness benefits into account, I’d say taking a look at these “instant oatmeal” homes would be a smart idea. Smart and green vs conventional?
Whoever said you can't have it both ways wasn't talking about the choices in Prefab homes today. We can live in a “custom” built home that is sustainable, healthy and beautiful and quick and easy to build. Why am I so curious about the instant house craze that's all the buzz? Am I jumping into this world because it's the flavor of the month? I believe choosing to go Prefab is a viable way to build an eco friendly home that’s high quality and light on your carbon footprint - and your nerves. Green or conventional? The choice is yours!
